Grants through the Workplace Charging Scheme
Organisations can get financial support towards the up-front costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charge points through Electrx, as an OZEV-authorised installer. The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme and we can ensure your business takes advantage of these incentives. The Workplace Charging Scheme is available to:
• Businesses including SMEs. This means big hotels have as much incentive as a B&B to use charging points to attract customers, and a sole trader can benefit as well as a big corporation.
• Charities.
• Public sector organisations like schools, armed forces and emergency services.
• The Workplace Charging Scheme will be available from early 2022 to:
• Owners of commercially let properties
• Small accommodation businesses such as B&Bs and campsites
• Help for small and medium sized enterprises to provision their staff car parks, a minimum of 5 bays must be provisioned, at least one must have working
ChargePoint
• Building owners and landlords
• Owners of apartment blocks for associated private parking areas
Do I qualify for the WCS grant?
Your organisation must meet certain criteria to qualify for the WCS grant vouchers:
• Only OZEV approved installers such as Electrx can redeem the vouchers.
• The charging unit(s) must communicate data to OZEV for three years.
• The grants are available for up to 40 units - capped at up to £350 for each socket.
• There is no need to currently own an electric vehicle within the business.
• Business must apply for vouchers which we redeem - and we can assist with this.
• Staff use only.
• Installations made prior to a voucher being issued do not qualify for the grant - applicants must apply for a voucher before installing any chargepoints
